I love the term Queenslander. My state of origin is New South Wales, but now living in Queensland I must admit I am calling it 'home'. There is something about the Queensland spirit, determination and loyalty. I am not talking the State of Origin Football here, I am just talking about the true blue Queensland Aussies you meet. I will never forget Anna Bligh's words that day as she stood in front of the nation describing the devastation of the Brisbane 2011 floods, she said
"We’re the people that they breed tough, north of the border. We’re the ones that they knock down, and we get up again".
Those words have always stuck with me and I do believe Queenslanders have a real fighting spirit. I am proud to now call myself a Queenslander and one day I would love to live in a 'Queenslander'. Not only does it have a great ring to it, but they are a beautifullly designed home. A home that considers the climate and the environment with its wrap around verandah, which is the defining characteristic for these homes.
This beautiful Queenslander is on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, its wrap around verandah and stairs at the front entrance is what got me...
Inside, cathedral ceilings greet atrium-style windows, while banks of louvres provide a scenic backdrop of Noosa National Park. French doors, a fire place and a clawfoot bath. Come and step inside this Queenslander...
