The month of July

The month of July through the eyes of Instagram....

This months post is a little late. I have spent the weekend in celebration mode (a graduation and 90th birthday, plus a visit from family all the way from WA).

The month of July for me was focused on one thing - a week in Fiji. I booked it quite last minute, last month in June. After a busy six months at work and a few really cold winter mornings I decided some island sun was what Hubby & I needed. So we booked and this is where we spent five blissful days on a tropical secluded island...

Falling more in love with palm trees, coconuts, fresh seafood and organic home grown produce. It was a little slice of heaven! Just what we needed...

Also in the month of July...

I took my Mum to a secret beach and we spent hours beachcombing, I came across some amazing pumice stone and driftwood. I have added the pumice stone to my agave pot plant. It was wonderful to share some time and nature with my Mum. How amazing is nature?! I love walking in the front door where this pot plant sits and thinking about our afternoon in the sun at the beach.

In the month of June I celebrated my first Blog Anniversary, which was a wonderful achievement. Since then I had been thinking of adding a regular feature to my blog, so in the month of July I started 'Feature Friday'. I had a great response from readers when I featured a Palm Beach coastal glam home, a House Rules reveal and two gorgeous beach shacks. So I listened and introduced 'Feature Friday' where each Friday I will open the doors to a home here on the blog. You too can now join me in dreaming and being inspired by these beautiful homes...

You may have noticed my lusting after a tree stump. Yes you read that right - a tree stump! Here is the blog post I wrote about using a tree stump indoors as a side table. I am soon making some changes in the master bedroom and am hoping a tree stump will make a feature! Stay tuned!

As always, the month was full of baking and getting busy in the kitchen. I stocked my freezer full of soup, as its so handy for those times you don't feel like cooking but want to indulge in some warm, hearty food. I came across an easy recipe here for some sweet potato (superfood) soup. I also got busy, making a little package of goodies for my gorgeous pregnant (soon to be a Mummy!) friend. You can thank Nicole Joy Inspire for the yummy inspiration, the recipes for the Chewy Caramel Slice and Choc Orange Berry Bliss Balls can be found here.

So heres to August...
For me August is all about kicking some new goals, spring cleaning and planning some more DIY projects around the home. Finishing off our kitchen renovation and tackling the bathroom and laundry are next. You can see some of our renovation progress here of our home. Can't wait to get back into the tools and get busy. Hope you all have a great month of August.

What about you? Anything exciting planned or goals to kick? Leave me a comment below.
