And so it is Christmas - Christmas at my Home

Hi everyone, just a quick post to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope its a time filled with love, smiles, sunshine and plenty of laughter.

I am officially on holidays now until January 5th, so you wont be hearing much from me now until the New Year! I’ll still be posting on Facebook and Instagram, so pop over and follow along my Summer festivities there okay! For me, Christmas and the New Year is going to be spent at home, lounging by the pool, enjoying our now complete home renovation (why would I want to go anywhere?!) and of course living it up in my sexy new bath (full reveal coming in 2015!).

I look forward to bringing you more Glamour Coastal Living in 2015 - thank you for following along and being a part of my blogging journey this year...

A huge thank you for all your support, beautiful kind comments and for coming along on this crazy blogging journey. Thanks for joining the Glamour Coastal Living tribe and popping by each week to read my posts here on the blog and all of your instagram and facebook love - the comments, likes, shares and support! I truly am grateful!
I do appreciate it!

I have met many like minded people this year via Glamour Coastal Living, who have encouraged me to follow my dreams and believe in myself a little more. It is so lovely to have you around me, inspiring and creating - urging me to strive to do the same. Thank you to those people!

Feature Friday: A Coastal Nest

When I came across this home in Adore Magazine, I knew I had to share it with you all as part of Feature Friday. It looks like a home that you would want to wander the rooms, admiring the detail and choice of the decor. You would know that even though it looks like a home that is 'just thrown together with unique things', it is a home that is precise, well thought and everything is positioned in a certain place for a reason! I love the interesting wall hangings, the pendants and of course - the white, timber and green. My favourite combination!

This Week In Stills

It has been crazy busy here in my household as of late. Is your household the same? It feels like there is not enough hours in the day, that my head hits the pillow each night and I fall asleep within seconds. My alarm goes off the next day and I am still tired!! I am going to be catching up on lots of sleep and rest these Christmas holidays that's for sure.

I thought I would show you my week in stills so you can see what has been keeping me busy...

My Coastal Rustic Christmas Table setting - Featured on She Loves To Make

I wanted to do something different this year for Christmas. I didn't feel like getting the tinsel and baubles out and having a traditional Christmas tree. So I made one instead! Living by the coast, I let nature inspire Christmas this year and created a driftwood Christmas tree. Using driftwood collected from my local beach and then adding my DIY clay tag ornaments and seashells something special was created.

To match in with the coastal theme, I thought a rustic coastal Christmas table setting would be ideal to match. So I added my coastal touch and was thrilled with how it turned out, just click here to see for yourself.

Did you opt for a traditional Christmas tree this year? What colour theme have you gone for? Have you thought about how you are going to style your Christmas table setting this year? Leave me a comment below, I'd love to know how you are celebrating this year.

Isn't Christmas sneaking up fast? Enjoy the festive period with your loved ones and friends. I hope its magical and filled with many happy memories.

How to create a Coastal feel in your home

Want your home to have a beachy vibe? Read on...

When I think of a coastal home, I am drawn to crisp whites, texture, timber, natural fibres, woven rugs, rattan, beach combing finds and lots of layers! Today I am going to be sharing with you some simple ideas on how to make your home feel coastal and homely. For me, my home is a touch of coastal, glam and natural. I love the feel of white and timber, paired with garden and beach combing finds. For me, a clutter free home with a simple colour palette makes me feel relaxed and I like being able to add certain coastal elements for a beachy feel.

Here are some ways you can achieve a coastal feel in your home,

Whitewash timber
Do you have an old piece of timber furniture or timber in your home that needs updating? Why not try a light whitewash paint effect. It is a cheap and easy way to update without having to buy new! I have achieved the whitewash effect on two side tables, you can see tutorials here and here.

Feature Friday: Sun bleached in the heart of Byron Bay

Byron Bay is my home town, I was one of the last babies born in the Byron hospital before the maternity ward was closed. Being a long term local it is fascinating to see the changes and shifts in Byron Bay over time. Now, Byron Bay is uber trendy, the place to be seen, holiday and wine & dine. I must admit, when I am on holidays nothing ever matches up to the food and restaurants in Byron Bay (sorry!). It truly is a special place! If I was to holiday in Byron, I would love to stay at the Atlantic Byron Bay, right in the heart of town. I remember seeing the cottages being renovated with fascination, Hubby even replaced the roof on it and I remember dropping him lunch one day at work - just so I could sneak a peek of the reno! I have always been a home stalker I think!!

I thought as its Feature Friday, why not step inside this Caribbean coastal estate and be woo'ed by its tropical gardens and amazing interior.
Please, join me for a home tour...
