And so it is Christmas - Christmas at my Home

Hi everyone, just a quick post to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope its a time filled with love, smiles, sunshine and plenty of laughter.

I am officially on holidays now until January 5th, so you wont be hearing much from me now until the New Year! I’ll still be posting on Facebook and Instagram, so pop over and follow along my Summer festivities there okay! For me, Christmas and the New Year is going to be spent at home, lounging by the pool, enjoying our now complete home renovation (why would I want to go anywhere?!) and of course living it up in my sexy new bath (full reveal coming in 2015!).

I look forward to bringing you more Glamour Coastal Living in 2015 - thank you for following along and being a part of my blogging journey this year...

This Week In Stills

It has been crazy busy here in my household as of late. Is your household the same? It feels like there is not enough hours in the day, that my head hits the pillow each night and I fall asleep within seconds. My alarm goes off the next day and I am still tired!! I am going to be catching up on lots of sleep and rest these Christmas holidays that's for sure.

I thought I would show you my week in stills so you can see what has been keeping me busy...

The month of November - good, bad and ugly!

I love the end of each month and looking back through my Instagram photos to see the past months shenanigans. This month was particularly interesting, there was good, bad and ugly. The bad and ugly came from the bathroom renovation, but now, its in its final stages and is nearly complete!!

So what did my month of November look like? Lets take a peek...

STILLS // My week in pictures

My bathroom renovation is in full swing starting tomorrow. It has been a hectic week choosing tiles, fittings, fixtures and of course coming to terms with having NO bathroom for over a week. Luckily its summer and we have a pool, as there will be no bathroom for us here! Eeeek!

GIVEAWAY // A boho, Sea Gypsy dreamcatcher by Glamour Coastal Living

B O H O // C O A S T A L // S E A G Y P S Y // D R E A M C A T C H ER

Inspired by the classic Native American dreamcatchers, Glamour Coastal Living has created a bohemian, coastal, glamorous approach to the dreamcatcher and they are available for sale! I initially made one for my bedroom, to add a pop of texture to as it featured a drfitwood hanger, timber, sea shells, leather, feathers, wooden beads and crochet. After gifting some to friends and family I wanted to spread the boho, coastal, sea gypsy love even further, so I have created a Etsy store, where you can buy and join the Glamour Coastal Living tribe!
The dreamcatchers are designed to bring you a touch of boho, coastal glam to your home and give you the sweetest of dreams. All dreamcatchers created are one of a kind and unique and made by me on the Gold Coast. Please pop over and have a look at my new store and let me know what you think of the creations!

Taking Stock - the month of October

The month of October through the eyes of Instagram

The months are flying by aren't they? Eight weeks until Christmas - please don't remind me! I love taking a look at each month through the eyes of Instagram and this month, I thought I would do something a little more different. Once again, this post features my month of October Instagram pictures but I also thought I would join in on Taking Stock, by Pip at Meet Me At Mikes this month. Pip shares what she calls 'Taking Stock', a great way to snapshot where you are, who you are spending time with and how you are feeling via the list below.

I thought it would be a unique way to capture life at this given point and give me some time to reflect on the month that was October.

Discovering a heritage home on my weekend in the country

Well today marks my 100th blog post. It's a kinda happy moment, I mean 100 is a pretty good milestone right? So just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for following along my Glamour Coastal journey and being a part of the tribe! Last week I wrote a little 'about me' post for the new followers to see who is behind it all.

Last week was a busy one. I was working with the lovely Melissah from Coastal Style to bring you a beautiful beach house that I have decided is my dream home...white, timber, ocean views, high ceilings. Oh its a stunner, from all of your facebook posts I think you like it too! You can see what all the hype is about here. I worked on my Etsy store, which I launched today and then I packed up the car for a roadtrip. I love roadtrips, there is something about the sing-a-longs, the endless conversations and that wide open road...

We (Hubby, Coopar our four legged fur baby and I) drove six hours south west from the sunny Gold Coast, heading for the Thunderbolt region west of Armidale. I spent a weekend visiting my Father's farm and catching up. It is such a contrast to see open plains, endless rolling hills, paddocks full of cattle and sheep and to hear the kookaburras calling in the distance. The weather was hot, the air was dry and there were so many flies!!

One of the highlights of the weekend was exploring a homestead that my Father has been renovating on a neighbouring property (see renovating and DIY is in my genes!). This home stood in the middle of a 800 thousand acre property, surrounded by endless paddocks and cattle. As we drove up to it, you could see the cute white weatherboard shed, the old brick toilet and old machinery lying in the grass....

The month of September through Instagram

September's Instagram for Glamour Coastal Living was all about spring: enjoying the blue skies and warmer days it bought. I love Instagram, simply for the fact that I enjoy sharing a snippet of my day and also taking inspiration from what I am seeing. There is some divine feeds on there that you could swoon over all day!

Here are my favourite September moments and what the month looked like through the eyes of Instagram...

Wednesday Wanderlust

Wanderlust is a strong desire for or impulse to

wander, travel or explore.

Wanderlust has taken over my body lately. I am loving exploring, seeing and experiencing new things. Fraser Island has been on the 'to do' list for a while and we recently bought a 4WD, so now there was no excuse. We roped my bestie and her partner in for an awesome foursome sand island adventure earlier in the month.

The month of August

The month of August for me through the eyes of Instagram....

August flew past, I can't believe it is the first of Spring already!
Here is my snapshot of the month of August and my highlights...

♥ This month I dusted off the tools and found my DIY mojo once again. I tackled a few little projects around the house, plus we finally finished our kitchen renovation. Phewww...I can't wait to share it with you (stay tuned!). Did you see this post where we added some serious street appeal to the front of our house?
♥ The lovely Sally from Coastal Vintage was on Instagram, asking followers to share our coastal treasures, using the hashtag #allthingscoastalvintage
Sally featured on her Instagram page my side table that I recently painted and added some sisal rope handles to.  You can see the post here. It was so nice to be feautered and shared with the lovely Instagram community!
♥ I Indulged in lots of healthy, fresh food thanks to my neighbour's gorgeous vegetable garden and found my new favourite dessert recipe - this chunky pecan caramel fudge.
♥ Was lucky to tack on a few extra days to a work trip and had a camping getaway
♥ Took a family holiday to the Pumicestone Passage and spent four days fishing and crabbing.
♥ Enjoyed writing Feature Friday posts and stepping inside someone else's home! If you missed it, I share Shelley Craft's home, Nina Proudman's Offspring apartment and a gorgeous country barn styled home.

I must admit though, I was counting down the last weeks of Winter. I am so looking forward to the warmer weather, being able to swim again and not having to wear so many layers of clothing (less washing I am thinking!!)

A few weeks of Wonderlust

Do you ever feel that once the holiday is over, there is just mountains of clothes piled up in the laundry to be done? That's how I am feeling right now.

Last month I spent 8 nights on a small isolated island to the north of Fiji. It was heaven for me, a week full of my favourite things...

♥ Fresh seafood and home grown organic produce (the pineapple was out of this world!)
♥ Swaying coconut palm trees, coconut water, coconut in my food, coconut skincare - everything was coconut and I LOVE coconut. I was in my element!
♥ Time with my Husband to relax and recharge the batteries
♥ Blue water and blue skies and nothing to do but laze at the beach. 8 days with sand on my feet, salt in my hair and sun on my skin was just what I needed to break up the colder winter months back home!

The month of July

The month of July through the eyes of Instagram....

This months post is a little late. I have spent the weekend in celebration mode (a graduation and 90th birthday, plus a visit from family all the way from WA).

The month of July for me was focused on one thing - a week in Fiji. I booked it quite last minute, last month in June. After a busy six months at work and a few really cold winter mornings I decided some island sun was what Hubby & I needed. So we booked and this is where we spent five blissful days on a tropical secluded island...

Falling more in love with palm trees, coconuts, fresh seafood and organic home grown produce. It was a little slice of heaven! Just what we needed...

Bula, I am back!

I am back on home soil after a week on island time in Fiji. A week ago  i posted this picture, my bags were packed and I was ready to go. Fast forward and the bags are overflowing dirty laundry and I am feeling the Aussie winter cold!

But I just wanted to check back in and say 'hello' and yes I am still here!! I cannot wait to share some holiday snaps and Fiji vibes with you all. It is truly a special place.

The Month of June

The month of June through the eyes of Instagram....

I woke to a three degrees morning today and I thought about June and the month I had. It was an unusually warm start to winter and I embraced being able to spend my mornings outdoors enjoying nature and enjoying the afternoon sun that hits my kitchen each afternoon, baking up a storm.
Here is what I got up to in the month of June...

Happy Birthday Glamour Coastal Living!

Happy birthday to Glamour Coastal Living!
A year has flown by and I am so happy to be here blogging!

I started Glamour Coastal Living a  year ago with this post I wasn't sure if I was going to be laughed at, if I was a crap writer, or would anyone be interested? But I posted it and Glamour Coastal Living started. Blogiversary was a word that I had not even heard of way back then, but today I am celebrating my first!

The annual Easter trip

Sometimes you need to stop and smell the roses.

Being a business owner is great, but it also means lots of long hours, always being switched 'on' and thinking about work. We have taken on some new contracts within the business and have had the a crazy busy three months. It is important to take a break and recharge the batteries, so this week we are taking our annual Easter camping trip! However this year we are adding a few extra days on (how great are the public holidays this year? Take three business days off and you have ten consecutive days off. Ahhhh heaven!) and having a whole seven nights away. I am like a kid at Christmas time, I can hardly sit still. Or concentrate!

I posted these pictures on Instagram this week...
You can tell I am little excited for some much needed R&R and living by the beach for seven nights...hearing the waves crashing...the smell of the salt in the air and in my hair....
